Ilaria Tucci is a theatre practitioner (MA in acting) and peace scholar (BA, MA in Peace Studies). During her professional path, she has developed her own applications of theatre as a tool of dialogue among people, participation, empowerment, peacebuilding and conflict transformation. Since January 2013, Ilaria has been living in Tampere, and now she is a Doctoral Researcher at the Tampere University (TAU) in the Peace and Conflict Studies Program with an interdisciplinary research, which combines applied theatre and peace research. She will defend her doctoral thesis in 2022 - “Community-based theatre as conflict transformation in Lampedusa: co-producing knowledge about life at the militarised border of Europe". As a Diversity Agent, Ilaria has worked with the Tampere Film Festival team (2019) and with the Pessi Children Cultural Centre from the City of Vantaa (2021). She also works as a Diversity Expert for the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture and for TAIKE - the Arts Promotion Centre (2020, 2021).
