Martina Marti is a theater maker, diversity expert and translator. She studied drama and theater studies in Canterbury and Paris and completed her master's degree (MBA) with a focus on arts management. After her studies, Martina worked as a festival programmer in Germany before moving to Finland in 2006. As an artist, Martina writes, directs and produces theater performances; her longest-running work is the intimate performance “Hamlet private”, which she occasionally performs herself.
Along her artistic work Martina works as a curator, diversity agent and translator. In the years 2017-2019, Martina worked at the Culture for All Service as a diversity trainer and educated arts and cultural institutions as well as upcoming diversity agents. Nowadays she gives diversity trainings to a wide range of organizations such as theatres, museums, funding bodies and associations.
“For me, diversity is a lived reality. Re-thinking artistic processes and cultural institutions from an inclusive perspective is not just challenging but above all hugely inspirational. This is what I’d like to transmit as a diversity agent.”
Martina has done DEI work with: The Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland, Turku City Theatre, Svenska Teatern, Kuopio City Orchestra, National Museum of Finland, Arts Promotion Center Finland, Kone Foundation, Women in Film and Television, etc.
