Tal Riva Theodorou (she/her)

Tal Theodorou is a professional violist and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) consultant with over 20 years of experience in orchestral and chamber music. She holds a Master’s degree in Chamber Music from the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin, where she studied under Prof. Tabea Zimmermann and Prof. Eberhard Feltz. Tal performs regularly with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestraunder Maestro Daniel Barenboim and has collaborated with leading Finnish ensembles such as the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic, and the Finnish National Opera. She has also served as Principal Viola with the Pori Sinfonietta and teaches at the FIMValencia music festival in Spain. A passionate advocate for inclusion in the arts, Tal created Music Mingling, a project supporting the integration of classical musicians, and advises on DEI initiatives for cultural organizations. Tal holds a Master’s degree in Culture (Cultural Well-Being) from Helsinki Metropolia University, focusing on inclusive audition processes and orchestra outreach. She seamlessly blends her expertise in music and DEI to foster equity and community engagement in the cultural sector.

Tal is a certified Cultural Diversity and Sustainable Development Dialogue Cards workshop facilitator.
