This accessibility statement applies to the website www.cultureforall.fi.

What do accessibility and Accessibility statement mean?

Accessibility Statement tells about the accessibility of a web service.

Accessible web service can be used by as many people as possible. Accessible web service can be used by for example disabled people. 

Our website is mainly accessible and easy to use. However, parts of this website are not fully accessible.

The accessibility of the website of Culture for All Service

Culture for All website is governed by the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services requiring that public digital services need to be accessible (read the Act in Finnish laki digitaalisten palvelujen tarjoamisesta, in Swedish lag om tillhandahållande av digitala tjänster).

This website meets the critical requirements of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines. 

The accessibility of this website has been assessed by Kokko-Kokki Oy (2011). Also, the Papunet web service/ The Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities has assessed the usability of this website considering people who use easy-to-read Finnish (2011). In addition, we have evaluated the accessibility of the website ourselves, last time in 2020.

Deficiencies in the accessibility of the website

Non-accessible content and its deficiencies:

Some page content is not accessible when the text is zoomed to 200%. Desktop navigation columns and boxes are too tight. They do not adapt to the increased text size. Some links will disappear or go over others. The problem occurs on the page template and front page.

Accessibility requirements that are not met:
  • 1.4.4 Resize text (AA) 

Reason for non-compliance: We will correct this problem as soon as possible.

Non-accessible content and its deficiencies:

Line spacing 1.5 times the font size causes problems. The small boxes in the main menu with short info texts do not adapt as the line spacing increases to 1.5. The problem occurs on the page template and front page.

Accessibility requirements that are not met:
  • 1.4.12 Text spacing (AA)

Reason for non-compliance: We will correct this problem as soon as possible.

Non-accessible content and its deficiencies:

All the seminar recordings and other videos published at our website or social media channels do not include subtitles, STT (speech-to-text) interpretation or Sign Language interpretation. 

Accessibility requirements that all our videos do not meet: 

  • 1.2.2 Subtitles (prerecorded) (level A)
  • 1.2.4 Subtitles (live broadcasts) (level AA)
  • 1.2.5 Audio description (prerecorded) (level AA)

Reason for non-compliance: do not fall under the pertinent legislation. The videos were published before 23 September 2020.

Non-accessible content and its deficiencies:

Our blog has texts in three languages. The default human language of each blog page cannot be programmatically determined.

Accessibility requirements that are not met:

  • 3.1.2 Language of Parts 

Reason for non-compliance: We will correct this problem as soon as possible.

Accessibility of files

There are numerous files at our website, in DOCX, PDF, PPTX and XLSX format, among others. We aim to make the files we produce ourselves as accessible as possible. The site also contains links to publications produced by other organizations. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee the accessibility of these files. 

Reason for non-compliance: do not fall under the pertinent legislation. These files were published before 23 September 2018.
