Publication launch: Diversity as the Foundation of a Thriving Culture: Perspectives on Equitable Cultural Activities in Municipalities
The Culture for All Service is publishing a comprehensive collection of articles titled Diversity as the Foundation of a Thriving Culture: Perspectives on Equitable Cultural Activities in Municipalities (unofficial translation). The publication explores a wide range of perspectives, from leadership to anti-racism, from funding to multilingualism, and from experiences of poverty to knowledge-based management. Published in both Swedish and Finnish, the volume contains 33 articles by 29 authors, including two articles in English.
The publication is aimed particularly at cultural professionals working within municipal organizations, but it is also a valuable resource for anyone interested in equality, diversity, and accessibility in the arts and cultural sector.
At the same time, the publication provides an overview of the Culture for All Service's priorities, values, and history. The Culture for All Service celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, and many of the contributors have either worked for the service or collaborated with it over the years.
The collection has been edited by Rita Paqvalén and Aura Linnapuomi. It will be available for free download in both Finnish and Swedish from 25 September 2026, both as a formatted PDF and as an accessible DOCX file on wepbage Julkaisusarja.
The collection has been funded by Svenska kulturfonden and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
