Daria Agapova (she/her)
Areas of expertise and interest: museum education, art mediation, facilitation of constructive dialogues, community engagement, strategic audience development for cultural organizations, partnership strategies in education, edutainment for children and families, children’s literature.

Daria Agapova is a museum educator, curator of participatory cultural projects, MA in Art History, and an ICOM member. Currently, she is working on the project Towards Relational and Multidirectional Dialogue on Memory Politics in a Diverse Finnish Society at the University of Eastern Finland. She was a co-editor of the ICOM international collection Migrations: Revealing the Personal. Museum practices and recommendations for working on Migration, Mobility and Diversity (2020); co-leader and curator of education in the project Agents of Change: Mediating Minorities supported by Creative Europe (2020–22). Working for Cultura Foundation in Helsinki, she organized the educational programs School for Museum Freelancers and School of Art Mediation for representatives of the Russian-speaking minority in Finland (2017–19) and curated an interactive bilingual (Russian & Finnish) program for families with children as a joint project of several museums in the Helsinki area. She also co-curated a partner project with the Finnish Heritage Agency within the framework of CultureLabs: Recipes for Social Innovation (2019–20). Earlier, she co-organized the USA–Russia Participatory Museum project and edited Participatory Culture: Museum as a Forum for Dialogue and Collaboration (2015). She is an author of a number of interactive partner museum projects for children and teens and a contributor for several museum guidebooks.
Daria has done DEI work with: the Helsinki Art Museum, EMMA Contemporary Art Museum, the Finnish Heritage Agency, Artsi Art Museum, Vellamo Maritime Centre, the Finnish Museum Association, the Turku City Theater, Taike Arts Promotion Centre, the City of Espoo, the Finnish Ministry of Culture and Education, the University of Helsinki, the University of Eastern Finland, the Finnish Association for Museum Education Pedaali.
