Get to know the Diversity Agents!
During autumn 2019, Culture for All Service, Globe Art Point and the Center for Cultural Policy Research Cupore organized a Diversity Agent Course for cultural workers and artists of non-Finnish origin or background. Now the course is over, and the new Diversity Agents got their graduation diplomas on Tuesday 10.12.2019.
The Diversity Agents are now ready for new challenges and to support work regarding diversity issue within the cultural field. We at Culture for All hope that their expertise will be taken into use by the cultural field! Get to know the Diversity Agents on our website: Diversity Agent Course.
The course was part of the project Avaus - Opening. Becoming an agent in the field of arts and culture in Finland and supported by the National Agency for Education.
The aim of the course has been to offer tools for developing diversity in the arts and culture sector.
The course introduced participants to topics related to diversity, familiarised them with the arts and culture sector and cultural policy in Finland and offered an opportunity to work concretely with diversity in an institutional context. Participants were asked to actively contribute their own expertise and offer sparring to each other.
11 arts and culture professionals participated in the course. They were selected through an open call procedure in March 2019.
