Nordic Culture Point: Culture and Art Programme invests in norm criticism, accessibility and diversity of cultural expressions
Culture and Art Programme supports Nordic cooperation within art and culture. But how do we define the Nordic – whose art and culture is prioritised and who takes part in art and culture?
The Nordic region is not a uniform place with only one culture. It is, rather, a region where diversity thrives on daily basis, where knowledge and experiences are being, and should be, exchanged over all borders. These diversities are an asset, a cornerstone for a sustainable, open and equal Nordic Region. There for should more, actually all, people feel welcome to be part of the field of culture.
In 2018 the Culture and Art Programme will invest in a wider reach, in inspiring applications that challenge existing norms and that work with increasing accessibility and diversity of cultural expressions. For these projects there are earmarked funding in the first application round in 2018, but we will work towards getting more of these applications in the future.
The next application round, which also is the first in 2018, is open during 05.02 – 06.03. 2018. More on the criteria of Culture and Art Programme can be found here.
