Culture for All Service seeks a Diversity Educator

The Diversity Educator participates in the planning and implementation of the project “Opening. Becoming an agent on the field of arts and culture in Finland” (Avaus. Toimijaksi suomalaisella taide- ja kulttuurikentällä). The project is coordinated by Culture for All and realized together with Cupore – Center for Cultural Policy Research and International Artists' Center Finland Association ry. The aim of the project is to plan action models, which would better support the inclusion of migrants with an art or culture worker background into the art and culture field in Finland. The project will also produce creative and engaging training packages, which make visible the thresholds of integration and thus enable integration within the arts and culture field.

The Diversity Educator works with different assignments as a part of the project team and as a part of the Culture for All Service team. The tasks of the position are e.g. to analyze the routines of different art institutions through a job shadowing method and to plan and implement custom made training programs for them based on the observations, to plan and realize communications as well as seminars and workshops. The Diversity Educator also takes part as an advisor in the research group of Cupore.

The job requires a suitable university or college degree, experience of teaching and of planning training programs/ courses, knowledge of cultural diversity and migrant issues as well as of the arts and culture field. Personal experience of cultural diversity is read as an asset.

The successful management of the assignment demands excellent cooperation and interaction skills, resourcefulness, abilities for independent and structured work, as well as experience of communication and project management.

The job requires language fluency in either Finnish or English.  Knowledge of either Finnish or Swedish is seen as an asset.
