
NPU Conference 2017 meets Arts & Audiences: Save the date and call for cases – deadline 26th May
What is the state of arts and cultural sector today and where is it heading? What is the ´best´ approach for cultural organizations to engage with young audiences – both youth and young adults, regardless of their gender or cultural background?
Audiences Norway are presenting a conference focused on the ´future´ – YOUNG AUDIENCES, providing artistic and cultural sector with inspiring conversations, knowledge dissemination and networking opportunity for Norwegian and international cultural actors. A two-day conference is about sharing the insights of the cultural sector and the state of audience development in Norway and Europe.
As part of the Arts & Audiences network we are also inviting our Nordic and international colleagues to share their knowledge and experiences of engagement with youth and young adults.

Who for?
The conference is aimed at practitioners from organisations across the cultural sector – working as programmers or curators, marketers or pedagogues, in order to set the audience development agenda for the public policy, practitioners and academic research.
Call for Cases
Does your organization have an unique audience development project targeting #YoungAudiences (youth and young adults)? Would you like to showcase the project and share the insights of the approaches used?We would like to learn more about your project and share your insights at the conference in Oslo. Call for cases is open until Friday, 26th May 2017.

Young Audiences
With the conference theme focussed on #YoungAudiences, we are triggering the discussion on what is the ´best´ approach for cultural organizations to engage with young audiences – both youth and young adults, regardless of their gender or cultural background.Learn more about the conference theme and programme.
Registration
Until 1 June, you can register your ticket for 1900 NOK (Early Bird) and secure your seat at the annual Arts and Audiences summit. The ticket includes a 2 day programme (first day in Norwegian), focused on #YoungAudiences. The announcement of first speakers and presenting organisations will follow soon.The conference is generously supported by the Municipality of Oslo, Akershus County and our venue host Dansens Hus Oslo.

Expert Symposium
We are excited to announce the symposium focussed on "What is the state of Audience development within the arts and cultural sector today and where is it heading?".In 2017 we mark almost three decades since the publication of “A Guidebook to Audience Development” by Heather Maitland and seven years since the ontology “Om Publikumsutvikling”, edited by Kristin Danielsen. The objective of the symposium is thus to reflect on the point of departure, current state and the future of audience development.
