Join us to plan Queercaches!

Queerkätkö Helsinki (Queercache Helsinki) is a community art project that lends its form and structure from the popular geocache hobby.
The idea in Queerkätkö is to look, with the help of GPS, for different caches, that tell about places, experiences or events in the Helsinki region that have been important for transpeople and for minorities within the queerminority, such as for example languages minorities or persons with disabilities.
We look for participants to the project group which will think about and map possible places for the art piece. Anyone who lives in the Helsinki area and for whom LGBTQ-questions are of personal interest is welcome to join the group. The planning and implementation will take place in February–April 2017 at meetings 1–2 times a week.
Queerkätkö is a community art piece by the artists Kalle Hamm and Dzamil Kamanger and it will be carried out as a part of the project Finland 100 – In rainbow colors. The piece will be published 26.6.2017 during the Helsinki Pride -festival, during which the audience will be able to join in the search for the caches.
The piece is a continuation to Gaykätkö (Gaycache), which was produced as a part of the VASTAAN+OTTO community art triennal in Turku in spring 2016.
