The Accessibility Recommendations for Public Libraries

The Accessibility Recommendations for Public Libraries is a guide for practical work, planning, development work and self-evaluation. The recommendations include aims and possibilities in relation to strategic work, collections, documents and material, customer service, events, pedagogic activities, communication, ICT procurement and premises.

The recommendations include also hints on how to develop the accessibility and usability of services. It also gives information on organizations, which can help with the development work.

The Accessibility Recommendations for Public Libraries can be downloaded free of charge (in Finnish)

The recommendations will be published later in Swedish.

The recommendations are published by The Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities. Many experts of library and accessibility field have written the recommendations together. Also Culture for All Service was part of the working group.
