The Seminar: The Century of the Child: Design - Children – Participation, Helsinki, Friday 20th of November
The Nordic countries have been pioneers in the design of enviroments for children as demonstrated at the exhibition Century of the Child at Design Museum.
As understanding children as a special group and designed products for them are associated with the role and opportunities of children to operate in society.
What are the current opportunities of children to participate in designing their own environment? What would participatory design education be like, and how will design be incorporated in Finland's new national core curriculum for basic education? Several experts from Finland and Nordic countries will share their views.
