
Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät represents Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest
Punk band Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät (PKN) is the winner of the New Music Competition and thus they are chosen to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest. Along with a love of music, they also share living with learning disabilities.
PKN´s song Aina mun pitää got 37,4 % of the votes by the audience and citizen jury of the New Music Competition.
The song Aina mun pitää is only 1,27 minutes long.
The band has four members. Guitarist and composer Pertti Kurikka writes the lyrics along with vocalist Kari Aalto. Toni Välitalo plays the drums and Sami Helle plays the bass.
Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät will compete with their song Aina mun pitää at the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest on Tuesday 19.5. The final is in Wien on 23.5.
