Helsinki Cine Aasia festival hits the big screens 12-15 March

Helsinki Cine Aasia, the only Asian film festival in Finland, will be held already for the third time in March 2015. The festival is showcasing the best of contemporary cinema from East and Southeast Asia.

In this year´s programme we have films from Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, and the Phillippines - and for the first time in Helsinki Cine Aasia´s history, from Bhutan and Vietnam.

Programme

The varied selection of films at the festival include works from well-known auteurs as well as up-and-coming directors. Several of the films in this year´s programme explore the history of Asian cinema.

Helsinki Cine Aasia 2015 opening film is a Chinese thriller Black Coal, Thin Ice. It will be screened on Thursday 12 March at 7pm at Bio Rex. In addition to Bio Rex, festival screenings will be held at Orion, Andorra Kino and Dubrovnik Lounge & Lobby from 12 to 15 March.

Festival tickets go on sale on Thursday 5 March on the festival website. Tickets can also be purchased from the screening cinemas during the festival. Buy tickets online

Club

On Friday 14 March Helsinki Cine Aasia hosts a Japan A-Go-Go! club night at Dubrovnik Lobby and Lounge. The Charades (FI) play eleki versions of Japanese film and TV themes along with danceable go-go music! Afterwards an eclectic surprise selection of Japanese music by the DJs.
