The winner of NCK´s pedagogical prize 2014 is Jyväskylä City´s "Cultural Guides"

The winner of NCK´s pedagogical prize 2014 is Jyväskylä City´s "Cultural Guides" (in Finnish Jyväskylän kaupungin kulttuuriluotsit). Cultural Guides were awarded, because they have since 2006 made cultural activities accessible especially for those, who would find the participation difficult without the Guides.

The Cultural Guides are volunteers, who help, support and inspire people to get more cultural experiences. The working model is now working in other Finnish cities as well.

The pedagogical prize has been established since 2006 and it goes to a person or institution that has made an outstanding contribution to the field of heritage learning. The winner is given an amount of 25 000 SEK and the honor to hold a lecture at the next spring conference.

NCK is a Nordic-Baltic centre for learning through cultural heritage. It perceives cultural heritage as a valuable resource that can help us to create a sustainable and inclusive society where learning is a lifelong process.
