Helsinki Cine Aasia brings Asian film to Helsinki

On 14.3.-17.3. Helsinki Cine Aasia film festival will be held for the first time. The festival's program focuses on East and Southeast Asian contemporary film.

Included are films from Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand and the Phillippines among others. The festival showcases films from well-known directors like Sion Sono, Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Wang Xiaoshuai as well as films from new up-and- coming directors. The whole official program is posted on Helsinki Cine Aasia's website.

The opening screening of Flashback Memories 3D (2012) will be held in Bio Rex on Thursday 14.3. at 7pm. The other festival screenings will be held in Orion and Andorra's Kino Hall and Dubrovnik Lounge.

Ticket sales have begun on the festival's website and tickets can also be purchased during the festival at screening locations.

Helsinki Cine Aasia will also feature club entertainment, which focuses on Asian music. Club Gundam Style on Friday 15.3. moves j-pop and k-pop rythmes. On Saturday 16.3. Club Niubi and Helsinki Cine Aasia present a live concert by Chinese band Chui Wan. The clubs will be held in Dubrovnik Lounge. Accessible only to persons 18 and up.
