First "culture friends" are now available in Helsinki
City of Helsinki Cultural Office and Social services and health care have started together the education and organizing of "culture friends", who start their work today in Malmitalo and Kanneltalo.
First cultural friends have now copleted their education and are now waiting for their first invitations. You can order a culture friend for yourself free of charge from the number (09) 310 58237 (Mondays and Tuesdays 12-14).
Culture friends contribute to the accessibility of cultural services and the activity and welfare fo the people living in Helsinki. For example loneliness can prevent someone from going to a cultural event. Culture friends are volunteers, who will be "peer guides", they will assist and keep company to people, who need some encouragement to participate in cultural activities. The users of culture friends will get discount on the tickets.
