
New Finnish Sourcebook of Art by People with Intellectual disabilities
Kettuki Art Center's new release Löytöjä - Outsider Art From Finland introduces the Finnish art centers for people with intellectual disabilities, the country's best known disabled artists and the educational institutions in the field.
Artists with intellectual disabilities have in the past ten years come to the fore, attracting a continuously growing amount of interest. But where do they come from and how can one get to know them and their art better?
Kettuki Art Center's new release Löytöjä - Outsider Art From Finland is a sourcebook, that introduces the Finnish art centers for people with intellectual disabilities, the country's best known disabled artists and the educational institutions in the field. The book also contains information on Finnish literature and research dealing with the art form. The writings of Ahti Isomäki and Otso Kantokorpi give a lead to the contents of the book.
The sourcebook is released in two languages, finnish and english. The publication is supported by Finnish Cultural Foundation and Majaoja Foundation.
