A Conversation on Equality in the Arts from the Perspective of Disability

EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, 2nd floor, Luova space

What keeps disabled artists on the margins, and what could open doors to the mainstream? What does inclusive curating mean? What changes are needed in institutions to promote equality? These themes will be discussed by multidisciplinary artist and professor Jenni-Juulia Wallinheimo-Heimonen, researcher of inclusive curating Silja Pasila, and EMMA’s curator Nella Aarne. The conversation will be moderated by musician Riikka Hänninen who leads the Taiteilijan taikasauva project. The event will be opened by project coordinator Sanni Virta.

The language of the event is Finnish. The event will include sign language interpretation.
