Onnimanni Prize to POC book club
The 2025 Onnimanni Prize from the Finnish Children's Book Institute will be awarded to the POC book club for its important work promoting equity and reading as a hobby, and for its anti-racism activities.
In its criteria, the Onnimanni Award jury emphasizes how important it is that the reading of young people belonging to minorities in the POC reading circle is influenced from within the minority, on their own terms. The leaders of the reading circle are important role models, and the guest articles on the organization's website introduce a wide range of readers.
