The statement of Culture for All Service against the genocide of Palestinians

Finland has to take immediate action to stop the genocide in Gaza. We need to prevent the genocide and stop the violence and destruction.

Everybody’s human rights must be secured in Israel and Gaza territory and other Palestinian areas. To date, over 60,000 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, 30% of whom are under the age of 18. We are particularly concerned about disabled people in Gaza – they are the most vulnerable people in war and crisis situations. People are being impaired in Gaza every day. Already 157,000 people have been injured during the war, a quarter of whom may suffer lifelong impairments. According to the United Nations, at least 21,000 children have been injured since the war began and 40,500 children have suffered war-related injuries. Humanitarian aid must be freely available to Gaza and accessible to all.

After this critical current situation, Gaza will need a lot of medical support and support in ensuring the rights of disabled people. It is important for Finland to participate in receiving patients in Gaza and to reserve resources to support the victims.

In addition to the humanitarian emergency, we are concerned about the region's cultural heritage, museums and cultural sites amidst the immense destruction.

Finland can make an impact. We appeal to you: the Finnish government and the President of the Republic must do everything possible to stop the genocide and achieve lasting peace and a solution.

We demand swift action. Finland must not be a bystander to genocide.
