Rauma Maritime Museum’s project Kohti vieraita satamia is the Museopedagogical Deed 2025
The Museum Education Association Pedaali rf has named Rauma Maritime Museum's Kohti vieraita satamia project the Museum Education Deed of the Year 2025. With the award, which is presented annually, Pedaali rf highlights exemplary and remarkable contributions to the public work and educational activities of Finnish museums.
Rauma Maritime Museum's Kohti vieraita satamia project has created functional, pedagogically designed museum points using the family learning model, i.e. adults and children learn together and from each other, and has implemented mobile learning packages for Laitakari Maritime Heritage Centre and Eurajoki library services. The points sought the enchantment of stories, joy and experiences of historical empathy. The design took into account multisensory perspective and accessibility, users of different ages, the lifespan of the points and price instead of digitality. In addition, special attention has been paid to neurodiversity, for which cooperation was carried out with a local association.
The Pedal Association gives an honorable mention to the Technical Museum's learning environment HOW LUMATE.
