Valid from 1 January 2026, until further notice.
Our basic mission
The Culture for All Service of the Association for Culture on Equal Terms exists to help the Ministry of Education and Culture's equity goals be realized. We act as a national expert and influencer in the arts and culture sector. Our mission is to promote equity, accessibility, social sustainability and consideration of diversity, as well as everyone's right to culture. We help, educate, influence, communicate and develop. We act as a bridge builder between the arts and culture sector, different groups and other sectors. Producing, coordinating and developing nationwide Kaikukortti activities is one of our basic missions. Kaikukortti activities are one of our concrete ways to promote everyone's right to culture.
Our values
The following values guide our activities:
The right to culture: Art and culture are the core of society and a human right. Everyone has the right to act and participate in cultural life, and to experience ownership and belonging to art and cultural heritage.
Freedom: We defend art and individual freedom in expression and participation. We note that freedom is not yet realized for everyone.
Genuine participation: We work to ensure that everyone can have an impact and be heard.
Transparency: We share information and know-how, operate transparently and listen to different perspectives.
Responsibility: We carry our responsibility for a sustainable society, culture and environment. We take care of each other. We promote a culture where communities and people are doing well.
Our vision
We envision Finland as a bold pioneer of culture, where art truly belongs to everyone.
The arts and culture sector is open, accessible and non-discriminatory. The sector offers everyone the opportunity to act as a creator and audience, and the contents of culture reflect the diversity of society. Renewal, freedom and responsibility make art a force that strengthens communities and inclusion. Every child can follow the paths of art, have art as a hobby or aspire to become a professional.
Our way of working
We build an arts and cultural field where everyone can act as themselves and be valued. We act as equally as possible. We listen and discuss, and we are not afraid to address shortcomings and challenge ourselves and others. We strive towards a safer and braver space where everyone dares to address difficult issues. We value diverse ways of being and doing work.
We work and influence together with our broad field. We connect different actors and promote activities that are led and planned by people from underrepresented groups.
