Culture for All Service renewed its webpages
The Culture for All Service has opened its renewed website.
The renewed website offers even more than before versatile information and tools for the workers in the cultural field to improve accessibility and knowledge between cultures. A completely new section on the webpages is the Cultural Diversity section, which relates to the questions of how to promote cultural diversity in cultural services.
The Culture for All Service also pursues accessible web communication with its own website. There is most information in Finnish on the website. In addition there is information in Finnish plain language, in Finnish sign language and in Swedish and English.
The accessibility of the Culture for All Service's website was externally evaluated in two different ways. In addition to a W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 based accessibility evaluation, an accessibility check-up was made by he "Papunet" Web Service Unit of the Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Papunet assessed the Finnish plain language version from the perspective of the users of plain language. The Finnish plain language version was designed together with the Finnish Plain Language Center. The Finnish Association of the Deaf was consulted in the design process of the Finnish sign language version.
