
ACCU end conference in Athens 14.-15.6.2007
We have the pleasure to invite you to our conference "Cultural Heritage for
All: removing barriers, creating experiences" on June 14th - 15th, 2007, in
Athens. The conference is being organized by the Byzantine & Christian
Museum, within the framework of the CULTURE 2000 Project "ACCU: Access to
Cultural Heritage".
The conference, by bringing together people working in the cultural heritage
sector with the end users, wishes to discuss the various types of access
barriers -physical, sensory, intellectual, social and cultural- as well as
current international trends and perspectives on how to improve access. In
the same spirit, the products of the ACCU project will be presented, as
concrete results of a fruitful cooperation in a European level. A panel
discussion with culture experts and representatives of people with
disabilities will conclude the conference, having as main goal to discuss
about museums and the issues of equality.
The conference will take place in the Byzantine & Christian Museum in
Athens. The official languages of the conference will be Greek and English.
