Nordic Network for Queer History Archives and Activities digital meeting on January the 20th

Nordic Network for Queer History Archives and Activities (NNAQH) invites you to meet digitally at January the 20th, 2025. SWE-NO time 5 PM and 6 PM Finnish time.

A new year with new possibilities to strengthen and expand the network.

Thank you for being with us in our common journey to build a network for sharing how to collect, preserve and disseminate queer history and artefacts the two previous years. We have achieved so many important things together. And now is the time to look forward.

The former NNAQH-administration was built to fit the call from The Nordic Council of Ministry and NIKK (where three partner organisations from three Nordic countries was needed for the application). After aprx. 20 digital meetings, three conferences, three webinars, an interesting and helpful web site, new knowledge about the queer cultural heritage situation in large parts (but not all) of the North and the Baltic our initial journey to create a network has come to a station from which we want to embark together with you. You who have joined conferences physically or digitally or attended webinars or happened to find our web page and liked it and would like more of it, welcome join the meeting January 20th at 5 PM Norwegian and Swedish time = 6 PM Finnish time.

We have had larger meetings with many of the three partners every second month since January 2023, and in addition a coordinator from each organisation have met in between the larger meetings. We have also had a project leader or coordinator who has been doing nitty gritty work when we were building up a solid base for the network – this position has been partly financed (aprx. a 10 % position) and will now cease.

In our last larger partner meeting in the end of 2024, we were brainstorming about how to continue the network in a sustainable way. We came up with the idea on a board or some kind of unit or mobile secretariat that may meet digitally 1-4 times a year (or more or less) for to coordinate webinars, and blog posts, reports and eventual future conferences. However, what a board or unit or mobile secretariat should handle and do is of course entirely up to it.

There is still some funding that may finance a meeting in Copenhagen the May 23-24, 2025, with the new members of a board/unit or secretariat and some representatives of the previous partners of the NNAQH for knowledge exchange and continuity. (Note: this meeting will be held just after the conference "Queer Pasts: What’s Queer in Queer History?” organised by University of Copenhagen and Roskilde University, in Copenhagen Denmark, 21-23 May 2025.)

Please register for the digital meeting by mailing nnaqh@qrab.org before 15th, 2025.

We will then send you a link and an agenda to the meeting the 20th.
