2026 is the theme year for old minority languages in Finland

Institute for the languages of Finland coordinates the theme year. It celebrates Finland’s national languages, Finnish and Swedish, but also the autochthonous languages that have a long history in Finland: Karelian, Romani, Sámi and sign languages.
