Concluding seminar of the Project Opening (Avaus) September 14th, 2020 in Helsinki

Culture for All Service, together with the Globe Art Point (G.A.P) ry, is organizing the final seminar of the Project  Avaus - Opening at Ateneum Art Museum in Helsinki on 14 September 2020. The aim of the project was to create models, that support the possibilities of arts and culture professionals with migrant backgrounds to become employed by Finnish arts and culture institutions and thus enable their better inclusion into Finnish society.

Warm welcome to the seminar! 

Location: Ateneum Hall, Ateneum Art Museum, Kaivokatu 2, Helsinki. Note. You can participate  remotely via Zoom.

Please enter via the main door of Ateneum (from Kaivokatu). The main door does not have a step-free access. The accessible entrance with a lift is located in the Ateneuminkuja side of the museum. 

Time: 13.00-16.00. The door will be open 12.45.

Seminar is free of charge and open for everyone by enrollment. 

Accessibility

Ateneum Hall is accessible and there is an induction loop. The accessible entrance with a lift is located in the Ateneuminkuja side of the museum. The event will have speech-to-text interpretation in English. The language of the event is English.

Registration

Link to the registration. Deadline for registration: 10th September.  We can take max. 60 people to the Ateneum Hall (including organisers and speakers). Please note: every participant must register. We send the Zoom link via email.

13.20 The status of foreign-born arts and culture professionals in Finland - Key findings of Cupore’s research by researcher Emmi Lahtinen, Cupore.

13.40 The role of the research and how and by whom these findings should be taken into action. Marjo Mäenpää, director of Cupore. 

13.45 Short break - something to drink and snack.

14.05 A commentary by Globe Art Point on the Cupore´s report by Kemê Pellicer

14.15 Discussion and Questions and Answers, moderated by Sepideh Rahaa

  • Panellists: Paula Tuovinen, Director of Art Promotion Centre (Taike) and Tommi Laitio, Executive Director of culture and leisure sector, City of Helsinki, Ceyda Berk-Söderblom, chairperson, Globe Art Point ry and Minna Karvonen, Director of Division for Art and Cultural Heritage, Department of Culture and Art Policy, Ministry of Education and Culture.

It is also possible to present questions online.
